Anatomical Diagnosis :
A specimen shows:
Ovary (bisected).
Pathological Diagnosis :
- Ovary is enlarged & cystic.
- The cyst is bilocular, thin walled & filled with gelatinous material
with a tuft of hairs in between the 2 locules.
Operative Diagnosis :
Ovariotomy
Provisional Diagnosis :
Teratoma of the ovary.
On microscopic examination:
thyroid tissue is found ( Struma ovarii).
