Anatomical Diagnosis :
A specimen shows:
- Uterus (bisected).
- Both tubes & ovaries.
Pathological Diagnosis :
- Irregular ill-defined polypoidal growth spread over the endometrium &
infiltrating the myometrium with areas of haemorrhage & necrosis.
- The growth perforates the uterus.
- An interstitial fibroid (comment).
Operative Diagnosis :
Total abdominal hysterectomy.
Provisional Diagnosis :
Uterine malignancy for differential diagnosis perforating the uterus
(Endometrial carcinoma).
