Anatomical Diagnosis :
A specimen shows :
- Body of the uterus (incised longitudinally). - Fallopian tubes.
Pathological Diagnosis :
- The uterine wall shows a single solid well circumscribed mass with
whorly appearance in the periphery but the centre shows hyaline & cystic
degeneration.
- The mass encroaches upon the cavity resulting in elongated eccentric
cavity.
- Thickened myometrium.
Operative Diagnosis :
Subtotal hysterectomy.
Provisional Diagnosis :
Submucous fibroid with hyaline & cystic degeneration.
