Anatomical Diagnosis :
A specimen shows:
- Uterus.
- Both fallopian tubes.
- Both ovaries.
Pathological Diagnosis :
- One tube is markedly distended forming a swelling. The cut section of
which shows that it has a thick wall, interior ridges , lined by
yellowish shaggy necrotic membrane & surrounded by dense adhesion.
- The other tube is fused with the ovary forming a tubo-ovarian abscess.
- The uterus is surrounded by dense adhesion
Operative Diagnosis
:
Subtotal Hysterectomy & bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy
Provisional Diagnosis :
Bilateral pyosalpinx.
