Description Fibrous Stricture of the Ureter

Specimen:

Open kidney with upper part of the ureter.

 

Gross Pathology :

1.  The lower part of the ureter shows a fibrous structure, 5 cm long. The ureter above the stricture is markedly dilated.

2.  The pelvi-calyceal system is markedly dilated and the renal parenchyma is almost totally atrophic forming a thin fibrous wall.

 

Diagnosis :

1. Fibrous stricture of the ureter.

2. Hydroureter and marked hydronephrosis.
