Specimen:
Half of a kidney and part of an adult heart.
Gross Pathology :
1. The kidney is markedly enlarged.
2. The surface and the cut section of the kidney show large numbers of variable sized thin walled bluish cysts.
3. The renal tissue in between is atrophic.
4. The heart shows hypertrophy of the left ventricle.
Diagnosis :
1. Congenital polycystic kidney.
2. Hypertrophy of the left ventricle.
