Specimen:

Section of the spleen

Gross Pathology:

1.  The spleen is enlarged and shows fibrosiderotic nodules.

2.  The fibrosiderotic nodules appear pale brown in the lower part (unstained) and pale blue in the upper part (treated with potassium ferrocyanide + hydrochloric acid (Prussian blue Reaction)).

Diagnosis:

Congestive splenomegaly with fibrosiderotic nodules.
