Specimen:

Placenta

 

Gross Pathology:

1.The placenta is about 10 cm in diameter and 3 cm in thickness. It shows numerous transparent variable-sized,pale grey vesicles, less than 1 cm in

diameter with tiny pedicles.

2. These vesicles are chorionic villi with hydropic degeneration.

 

Diagnosis:

Vesicular mole (hydatidiform mole).
