Specimen:
A sagittal section of a female pelvis.
Gross Pathology :
1. The cervix uteri shows a fungating polypoid greyish white mass with areas of hemorrhage and necrosis. The tumor is projecting into the cervical canal and infiltrating the cervical wall.
2. The tumor extends downwards invading the upper part of the vagina, upwards invading the lower part of the uterine body, anteriorly invading the floor of the urinary bladder and posteriorly invading the fibrofatty tissue between the uterus and the rectum.
Diagnosis:
Polypoidal carcinoma of cervix, [Stage 4].
