Enlarged Open uterus
Gross Pathology :
1. The uterus is Enlarged (20 X 15 cm).
2. The uterine cavity is lined by shredded yellowish necrotic tissue.
3. The uterine wall is thickened (3 cm in thickness) and its cut section shows dilated veins with yellowish septic thrombi inside.
Diagnosis :
1. Puerperal sepsis.
2. Sub-involution of the uterus.
