Specimen:
A segment of small intestine.
Gross Pathology:
1. The ileum (intussusceptum) is invaginated into itself (intussuscepient).
2. The intussuscepient is opened to show the invaginated intussusceptum
which is black and gangrenous.
3. Taenia worm is seen projecting from the tip of intussusceptum
Diagnosis:
1. Enteric intussusception.
2. Moist Gangrene of the intussusceptum.
3. Acute intestinal obstruction.
4. Intestinal taeniasis.
