Specimen:
Section of the liver
Gross Pathology:
1. The surface of the liver shows irregular depressions.
2. The cut surface shows fibrosed thickened whitish portal tracts.
3. The tracts cut transversely appear round, the tracts cut
longitudinally appear oval or elongated.
4. The liver tissue in between shows no regenerative nodules and is dark
brown.
Diagnosis
Bilharzial peri-portal hepatic fibrosis.
