Specimen:

A slice of enlarged liver

 

 Gross Pathology:

The cut surface shows nutmeg appearance denoting: alteration of dark red foci of congestion (central vein and central end of sinusoids) and yellow areas (fatty degeneration in the periphery of the liver lobules).

 

Diagnosis

Chronic venous congestion of the liver.
