Specimen:
Heart of a child with open left and right sides.
Gross Pathology:
1. The membranous part of the inter- ventricular septum shows a rounded
defect; less than 1 in diameter.
2. The right and left ventricles are dilated and hypertrophied.
Diagnosis:
1. Inter-ventricular septal defect.
2. Hypertrophy and dilatation of the right & left ventricles
