Specimen:
Heart with opened chambers.
Gross Pathology:
1. The mitral valve shows :
Thickened grayish opaque retracted cusps.
Thickened shortened chordae tendineae.
Widely patent mitral orifice.
2. All cardiac chambers show hypertrophy and dilatation.
Diagnosis:
1. Chronic Rheumatic Endocarditis of the mitral valve with incompetence.
Hypertrophy and dilatation of all cardiac chambers.
